My blog reading buddies. I’m proud to announce that my baby-sister-in-law Sophie Albersen is a celebrity in the making in our small frog country the Netherlands. She made a nice piece of bling for someone in the government. So if you need a nice piece of bling make sure it’s a Sophie Albersen original! I’m proud of you baby-sister-in-law. Last day in L.A.

The last day in L.A. What to do? Do more shopping? Catch a tan? We really dunno what to do. We pretty much did everything already. So think we are going to pack our suitcases. Think they will be too full. Arrrgguh!

Last minute change of plans. We are going to a outlet….shopping again. With my arm fire burning. They have a American Apparel and a Vans so I do need to check it out.

Got my tattoo done by Mojo. I told him that I wanted to fill up the tattoo on my fore arm with clouds. He suggested to add some leafs. Otherwise it would be so empty. So he drew the leafs and clouds on me and started hurting my arm. I didnt know what to expect but I like the end results. My arm is fire burning now….A dunno-thanks to Mojo. Hes a great artist. Probably I will come back to finish my whole fore arm.

By the way we saw Kat and Corey. We were in de middle of a few scenes. Pretty awesome. A shame we were not allowed to take any pictures. But it was a great expierence.

Ps. I had to lay down for four hours. So dunno-thanks Laura for standing by me.

Celebrating Labor Day in L.A.

Today its labor day. Many stores have special discounts. But no shopping for us anymore. For me that is. Dunno about Laura.

Well, guess what…we did some shopping. Today we went back to Santa Monica. This time we went to Third Street Promenade. Its a nice area with shops and many street artists. Pretty awesome. You should checky check when youre in L.A. After checking out the shops we went to Santa Monica State Beach. Which is a few minutes walk from Third Street Promenade. We enjoyed the sun on the beach. Pretty lacy aint it?

After trying to catch a tan we went back downtown. Again the long ride with the bus. We had dinner and after some frozen yoghurt. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Which is delicious. Frozen yoghurt with Oreo cookies and chocolate! Very delicious! You can choose your own flavour yoghurt and toppings. The shop is called Pink Berry. If you see that shop somewhere go and try the yoghurt. They should open that shop in Amsterdam. Only in the summer though. Just like Swirl….

Tommorrow its back to Hollywood to get my tattoo done. Im very excited. Bring the pain!

We want to thank the family for making our stay in Vancouver a blast! A dunno-thanks Rani and Tom for picking us up and dropping us off at the airport, for taking us to Whistler, the hike in Lynn Valley and so much more.

A dunno-thank-u aunt Jeni, uncle Hanpin and Teddy for letting us stay at your home and for the groceries.

A dunno-thank-u Eko, Chissa and Flash (my dunno-apologies if I wrote your names wrong) for letting us stay at your place, the great breakfast, also the hike in Lynn Valley and not to forget the ice cream chocolate cake. Jum jum.

Dunno-thanks aunt Evi, uncle Harry, Daniel, Sam and oma for the dinner in the Greek restaurant in Steveston, taking us fishing and for the delicious soto soup (jum jum). Dunno-thanks Daniel and Sam for introducing Rock Band to us. I will buy I all the stuff and practice. So next time our band wont suck because of me.

Dunno-thank-u to uncle Paul, aunt Sara, Shannon and Titia for taking us to the 2 dollar store (sweet….), dim sum, the presents and more. Shannon dunno-thank-u again for being our personal shopping guide…..

Soooooooo many many many thanks thanks family in Canada. We will miss you. Come visit us. Probably we will visit again….

Districts in L.A.

Today was once again a walking day. We went for breakfast in the Weller Court near our hotel. Then we went walking and we saw a sneaker shop. Just as FCLA a consignment store. Great sneaker collection. We never saw the store before. We walked passed it like 4 or 5 times. Must have been the heat. Its called R&F …..something near Little Tokyo Plaza. Google it!

Then we decided to go to the Fashion District. On the way we came across the Toy District. Both districts were pretty ghetto. Probably not save in the evening. And theres was nothing special about the districts. If you like pinjatas and fabrics you should go to those districts when youre in L.A.

After the ghetto districs we went to Macys. It was ok. Nuttin special. We went back to our hotel. And yess! Walking in the heat. On our way back we walked through the diamond district and financial district. Again, nuttin special. Oooooyeah! We found a shop I wanted to visit. Its called Blends. Sneaker collection was ok. Maybe I will buy a Max 1. Keep rockin those 1s like….

Santa Monica Bay and Venice Area

Yesterday we decided to go to the beach. We took the bus to go there. We thought it was a 30 minute drive. But noooo. Took almost an hour. Wow! And the bus was ghetto. Finally we arrived at the bay. It was crowded as we expected. We wanted to find something to eat. But every restaurant was full. So we decided to go walk to the Venice area. We had lunch at a vegan restaurant. Pretty funky. Nice food though. On the way we saw a Undefeated store. Remember? The store I wanted to visit but it was too far. Guess the shopping god was on my side. And Gino I have some great news. I found your shoes. The walk from the bay to Venice was almost 10 blocks. Still not used to walk that much. But see it this way..nice way to lose some weight!
Andnuh….we walked back to the bay. On started from Venice Beach till the bay. Pretty romantic aint it…we took some pictures on the beach. Bleh bleh..

If you are in L.A. go to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Just to lay down on the beach to catch a tan or go swimming in the sea. We didnt go for a swim because I left my speedo at the hotel. When I say speedo I mean the surf shorts not the small shorts. Oooo…mentioned it before. Venice has some cool shops and restaurants. Sooooo….go go go.

Fairfax Village and Melrose

If youre in L.A. and you likey like fashion you have to visit Fairfax and Melrose. Definetly Fairfax. Visit shops like Flight Club, The Hundreds, Supreme, HUF, Keep and more. On Melrose you can find shops like Paul Frank, Ed Hardy, Bathing Ape and more. Some advice dont go walking from the commercial area of Hollywood. Take a bus. You can take bus 217 from Hollywood Highland. Message to Gino: they dont have the Jordan Hall of Fame at FCLA. Which other Jordan I had to look for again? I dunno anymore. They said I should look for it at a Footlocker or …Hoops. I will do by best. Message for Niggi and Sophie: we did find your scarfs. A pink one for Niggi and a yellow one for Sophie. Next stop probably the beach area.

Hollywood

After walking around in the commercial area of Hollywood we went searching for Highvoltage. You might know the shop from the show L.A. Ink. We asked a local dude for directions. He made it sound that it wasnt far and told us we could walk. Well from expirience I can tell you this: if youre in the commercial area of Hollywood and you want to go to Highvoltage. Dont walk! Its about 8 blocks of walking. So a dunno-thanks-but-no-thanks for the dude who told us the directions. Arrrughhh….the shop is located in the La Brea area. If youre in that area go visit the shop. If youre in Hollywood take a bus. My plan was to get a tattoo there. And yes I booked an appointment. A dunno-reminder for myself: Tuesday, September 8th, 3 PM.

Theres also another shop I wanted to visit: Undefeated. We didnt go and look for it because my GPS said it was about 2 hours of walking. So not true. Finally got my GPS to work but its no use. So dont use Navigon for your iPhone. Bleh…..next post: Fairfax and Melrose. Yesss….walky walk!

Recon mission….

Day of exploring the area. Before the mission began we had breakfast in Little Tokyo. We woke up too early. So all the stores were closed. Next time we will sleep in. We took the train from the nearest train station. About 5 blocks from our hotel. That would be a 10 to 15 minutes walk….up hill. Anyway, we took the train from Civic Center and got off on Hollywood Highland. From there we walked and kept walking. The Hollywood area is pretty nice. You see all the stars on the side walk and a lot street artists……Jack Sparrow, Spiderman, the cowboy from the movie Toy Story and more. We didnt took pictures yet. Some other time. We did take pictures of the famous Hollywood sign on the mountains. Oooooo yeah! After Hollywood we went to some other areas such as West Hollywood, Fairfax and Melrose. Detailed posts will soon be posted. And yesssss! We did walk all the way. Gino and Nasra wouldnt be very happy…..
